What is the best Diamond Ring metal - Platinum or White Gold?

Platinum is the best metal to make diamond jewellery.  Platinum is 1.39 times as dense and so is stronger than white gold.  Platinum is also naturally white and only requires polishing and cleaning to look splendid.  Platinum is hypoallergenic so much better kinder on fingers should you have sensitive hands.  On the negative side, Platinum is expensive at about 3 times the price of white gold it is also very hard to work with in the workshop.  We are platinum specialists so this isn't a problem but it does take longer to finish.  White Gold is a perfectly good, strong and quality metal - because of the price we reccommend that if a diamond ring budget is $4500+ go for platinum and if it is below this then go for white gold as you can apply more budget as a % to the diamond.  Both metals require service every 2 years to polish and clean.  Call us to discuss if you are unsure - 0800-233-299.
